As a result of the Graffiti Art Challenge which was the final one, the overall scores after 7 challenges were:
1st Brunel 20
Faraday 20
3rd Somerville 18
4th Turing 13
With Brunel and Faraday tying for 1st place there will be a Stoolball match arranged between the 2 Communities in the next couple of weeks to decide who will be overall Inter-Community Challenge Champions.
TURING WIN GRAFFITI ART
(Click on the image for pics of the art.)

The last Inter-Community Challenge took place the week before the holidays, with all 4 Communities designing a board to be used in the new “quiet area” that has just been completed.
The design had to incorporate each community name and many hours were spent completing them.
The standard was extremely high and the 4 boards will soon inject a lot of colour to the quiet area.
The boards were judges as:
1st Turing
2nd Brunel
3rd Faraday
4th Somerville
The overall results are very close with just ONE challenge left, which is Graffiti Art on Wednesday 20th May.
Overall Results
1st Faraday 18
2nd Somerville 17
3rd Brunel 17
4th Turing 9
Any of the top 3 communities can win the Intercommunity Challenge cup. A prize will be awarded to ALL students who have participated in any of the 7 challenges throughout the year from the WINNING COMMUNITY.
1st Brunel 4
2nd Faraday 3
3rd Somerville 2
4th Turing 0 (no entry)
.
Challenge no. 5 “Tug of War”

Inter-Community challenge
The latest Challenge in our series was “I’m a student get me out of here” in which the students collected ‘stars’ in 5 trials based on the senses.
There were taste, smell, touch, sound and sight tests for each team.
The communities entered 2 teams each and their ‘stars’ were added together.
The results were:
1st Turing 58 stars
2nd Faraday 54 stars
Somerville 54 stars
4th Brunel 45 stars
After 4 challenges, the overall competition stands at:
1st Faraday 13 points
2nd Somerville 11 points
3rd Brunel 10 points
4th Turing 8 points
Challenge No.5 is on Wednesday 4th March 2009 and will be a Tug of War.
Challenge no. 4 I’m a student, get me out of here!!

The latest challenge in our series was an inter-community quiz in which there were 10 round of questions including geography, maths, general knowledge, food & drink and sport.
It was a really close competition with Brunel eventually running out winners, due mainly to the fact they chose to play their joker at the right time.
Well done the Brunel team of : Joel Edwards, George Smith and Shauni Hamling.
The results were:-
1st Brunel 81½
2nd Somerville 79
3rd Faraday 71½
4th Turing 70½
After 3 challenges the overall competition stands at:
1 Faraday 10
2 Brunel 9

Challenge No. 4 is after Christmas on Wednesday 21st January 2009 and will be “I’m a student, get me out of here”.
